AVO Classic No. 5 received an amazing 90 points from Cigar Aficionado in 2016.

AVO Classic is the creation of Hendrik Kelner and Avo Uvezian, who worked with Davidoff to create a mix of premium tobaccos that is not only extremely rare but also matured for at least 5 to 7 years.

When Davidoff purchased the rights to AVO in 1995, it was a seismic shift in the tobacco industry. In little over ten years, the AVO brand expanded from selling just 5,000 cigars to roughly 3.2 million, making it one of the most popular brands in the world.

Now, the fact that AVO Classics are produced by Davidoff is great, but the use of Dominican fillers and binders, combined with an exceptionally exquisite Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, is the frosting on the cake. As a result of the Dominican fillers, binder, and Connecticut wrapper used, the AVO Classic has an incredible smoothness with earthy and nutty flavors, and a somewhat peppery finish. This mild to medium-bodied cigar’s flavors and aromas shine through, making it a pleasure to smoke.
