One of the all-time greats for the Boston Red Sox and a national hero in his native Dominican Republic. Mr. Ortiz, on the verge of retirement, decided to make his mark in the cigar industry by forming a partnership with Tabacalera El Artista, makers of the Exactus brand. In 2013, they were first made available for private usage at parties, events, and charitable activities. After hearing such acclaim for this cigar , they decided to release the Big Papi brand to the public in 2016.

The original “Big Papi” features a stunning Ecuador Habano Claro wrapper, a blend of Dominican and Nicaraguan tobaccos for the filler, and a Dominican Criollo ’98 binder to keep everything together. flavorful and robust, with nuances of cream, pepper, nuts, leather, and a natural sweetness; body is medium to full.

On the other hand, the huge “Slugger” features the same filler and binder as the original “Big Papi,” but a spicy Mexican San Andres wrapper adds depth and spice to the smoke for a truly unforgettable experience. Definitely big and full-bodied in strength with similar flavor notes to the classic “Big Papi” cigar.
