The 1964 was the first non-Cuban cigar to be counterfeited because it was so wonderful when it initially came out. Padron was compelled to create unique double bands with individual serial numbers so that consumers could distinguish genuine cigars from counterfeits. The PADRON 1964 ANNIVERSARY SERIES is special and restricted, with just one to two thousand boxes produced annually. The 1964 is only given to a select few cigar retailers. Padron 1964 Anniversary Diplomatico Maduro

First released in 1994 as a box-pressed premium cigar to commemorate the Padron family’s thirty-year heritage of cigar excellence. The 1964 was presented to the globe, which responded well. As with exquisite wines, costly furnishings, and pricey automobiles, there is now a super-premium “authentic” cigar in the cigar universe’s exclusive class. As with many good things, there is a price to pay for the privilege of acquiring high-quality stuff, and the 1964 is no different, but the price is well worth it.
