Two volcanoes rise imposingly from the coast of Ometepe Island across Lake Nicaragua. The active Conception is to the north, while the inactive Maderas is to the south. These volcanoes make Ometepe’s soil so dark and fertile, and allow it to cultivate some of the world’s best tobacco.

The Alma del Fuego is a monument to Ometepe by the Plasencia family. Every Ometepe tobacco used in the double binder and half of the filler mix is matured for seven years to fully exploit the volcanic soils. Tobacco farmed on Plasencia’s fields for over five generations, including the wrapper and residual fillers. Earth, leather, and espresso dominate the tastes, with a peppery aftertaste. Alma del Fuego means Soul of Fire in Spanish. Born of the sun and volcanoes, it awaits your lighter’s flame to burn it to your finger tips.
